Online Safety and GDPR

As part of the role of and ICT/Computing subject leader and ICT Advisory teacher my role has always encompassed online safety in many forms. I can hopefully offer your school or setting support in developing robust Online Safety policies and strategies that meet with statutory Safeguarding requirements, and ensure your pupils and staff are able to use technology safely and successfully.

Policies and Audits and Evaluation

Policies and Documentation
I have developed a range of policies and guidance documents to support schools with implementing effective Online Safety practices and strategies that fulfil statutory obligations.

​I can work with you to adapt these draft policies to suite your organisation, setting or school. These include:

  • School Website Policy
  • Pupil Online Safety Policy
  • Staff ICT Security Policy and Agreement
  • ICT Security Agreement for School Visitors 
  • Social Media Policy
  • Guidance on use of Mobile Phones and Digital Devices

Online Safety

  • I can offer a scheme of work to teach Online Safety to KS1 and KS2 pupils
  • I  have an up to date knowledge of other resources that support effective teaching and learning in this area
  • I can also support PHSE and Citizenship subject leaders to embed Online Safety in their frameworks and lessons

Parent  Meeting and Workshops

I can run sessions and workshops for parents to inform them of the school approach to Online Safety, and to share resources, strategies and helpful approaches for helping their children stay safe online.

Data Protection and GDPR

I have worked with schools over the past few years to ensure they are complying with the General Data Protection Regulation introduced in May 2018.  Subsequent audit reports from the school Data Protection Officer (DPO) audits have been positive.

I have worked with office and admin staff, SLT members, governors and other key staff members to audit current data protection practice and identify areas for improvement or change.
I can also run Staff CPD and INSET sessions on Data Protection and GDPR.
